Welcome to Pegasus Pony Club
Pegasus Pony Club has a long and proud history. We were the first Pony Club established in South Australia and are celebrating our 70th birthday in 2023!
New members of all ages are always welcome and whilst we're part of the international Pony Club movement, our Club is open to horses of all sizes - not just ponies! All levels of riders are encouraged to participate - from beginners of all ages through to more advanced levels. Pegasus Pony Club welcomes riding and social members. It is not uncommon for parents and their children to be riding together at the same rally and equestrian is one of the few sports where that can occur.
Pegasus Pony Club focuses on fun, friendship, education and learning. "A Life With Horses Starts Here" is the phrase used by Pony Club Australia and we follow that philosophy. When you join us as a riding member, you and your horse will learn many aspects of Horse mastership and working harmoniously together. You will learn how correctly care for your horse, how to keep your equine friend happy and healthy, what saddlery and equipment you will need for different occasions and how to maintain it. Our qualified instructors will help you find the confidence to ride safely and be able to manage yourself and your horse if anything unexpected should happen.
Pony Club provides incentives, certifications, achievement patches and activities along the way to encourage members to continue to learn and grow in their horse/human connection - and we never stop learning (just ask our Senior members who are still learning).
We are part of the Metropolitan Zone of Pony Club Association of South Australia and riders enjoy regular, competition with other Club riders. There is always lots of fun and laughter, and some healthy Club rivalry, and these days give both children and adults the chance to share time with like-minded horse-focused individuals - just like us!
But it doesn't stop there - members of Pony Club also have the chance to go on and represent their Zone, State and even country in State, National and International Pony Club competitions.
You will find Pegasus Pony Club's grounds nestled in the leafy foothills of Adelaide, on Greenwith Road at Golden Grove. Club days (called Rallies) are held regularly. Visitors are always welcome so please feel free to call in and say hello at any Club Rally day. We would LOVE to see you and introduce the joy of horses and Pony Club with you.
